Montblanc Writers Edition Daniel Defoe

The Writers Edition 2014 is paying tribute to Daniel Defoe, an English novelist, pamphleteer, and journalist who is most famous for being the author of Robinson Crusoe (1719) - a story of a man shipwrecked alone on an island. Defoe is considered as one of the founders of the English novel. The limited edition pen comes with a 18 K gold nib and is characterized by ruthenium-plated fittings and a brown-black precious resin processed to evoke the color and texture of the wood and thus symbolize the life of Crusoe in the island. Many of the details in this Writer's Edition recall details of the novel: - The nib has engraved the portrait of Polly, the trusted parrot. - The clip is the quill of Polly - The brown-black precious resin with wooden optic and ruthenium plated fittings refers to the wood with which Crusoe built the raft. - The finishing in ruthenium want, instead, to be an homage to the covers of the novels of the eighteenth century.
